Match.com, an operating business of IAC (Nasdaq: IACI), today announced an agreement by which Match.com will become the exclusive online dating site on Yahoo!. Yahoo! Personals users will have the opportunity to move to a new co-branded Match.com experience, "Match.com on Yahoo!" where they will combine with the greater Match.com community. The Match.com on Yahoo! service is available starting today.

"Singlesnet has built a heavily trafficked site with an active and dedicated community of users," said Greg Blatt, CEO of Match.com. "While Singlesnet's traffic is currently in decline, we believe that by applying our category expertise we can reverse that trend, increase the site's profitability and improve the overall user experience. This is more of a value acquisition than a strategic one, and Singlesnet will predominantly be run as a standalone business.
Match.com Survey Reveals Singles' Insights on Beginnings of Relationship
Match.com, the website that helps singles find their beginnings, today released a survey of members that puts a finger on the pulse of singles' attitudes about dating and the early stages of a relationship.
Of those members who participated in Match.com's survey, 85 percent agree that there shouldn't be any kissing on the first date, and 62 percent agree that men should foot the bill for that initial rendezvous. Pittsburgh tops this year's list with a casual dinner and two movie tickets costing $77.80. On the opposite end of the spectrum, the same date in the most expensive city on the list, Los Angeles, comes in at $126.06.
IAC's Match.com to Acquire People Media from American Capital
New York, NY — Today Match.com, an operating business of IAC (NASDAQ: IACI), announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire People Media, a leading operator of targeted dating sites, from American Capital Ltd. (NASDAQ: ACAS), funds affiliated with American Capital and other investors. IAC will pay $80 million in cash for People Media, which had $11.6 million of EBITDA in 2008.
